This is where our old furnace used to sit. It's gone! And in it's place we have lots of space. Our house now smells like a cave. All of the vents are now ductless, they are open to the crawlspace under our house. The smell of damp earth and camel cricket corpses is now wafting through our house. With all of this easy access the camel crickets are making their way into our house en masse. I found this little friend in our mud room.
9am cannot come fast enough, that's when the furnace installers will return to finish up the job and seal up alll of these open holes.
Man, those are big crickets.

We have had black widows in our crawl space for years. I would squish any I find if I am working down there. Mainly in the area that I am working. But I mentioned it to the Terminex guy when I found one in the house. They did something down there which killed most if not all of them. Suddenly we had an explosion of camel crickets. There seem to be 10 camel crickets for every black widow that was killed. Personally I would prefer the fewer deadly spiders to the multitude of annoying hopper. Yeah, I'm a spider person. I only had them sprayed when one was in the house, with my 2 kids.

I'm with you, I'd take spiders over these creepy little albino grasshoppers any day.
